The movies is inspired* by the life of John Nash, a mathematical genius whose career was cut short by a descent into madness. At the age of 30, John Nash, a stunningly original and famously eccentric MIT mathematician, suddenly began showing signs of mental illness which goes on to tear his personal and professional life apart. He then fights the illness to get his life back together.
