In Nudge, Thaler and Sunstein, put forward their Nudge theory - which proposes positive reinforcement and indirect suggestions targeted at the biases programmed into human brains naturally, as ways to influence the behavior and decision making of groups or individuals.
The authors start with explaining the biases - what makes humans human, explaining why a nudge is required, and how choice architecture works. Once through with laying the foundation, they move into detailed discussions about application of Nudge in the financial world (including an individual's) and society. It ends by putting forward extensions of the concept and addressing some of the (expected) critiques.
