RRR - Romantic Relationships Research - Findings and Your Personalised Report
Last year, we ventured into unchartered territory: exploring the hidden impact of Cognitive Biases on Romantic Relationships. This session is a special "Thank You" to the 200+ participants who made this research possible!
In this video, we reveal the findings of the dissertation, explain the science behind your decision-making, and guide you on how to interpret your personalized Relationship & Biases Report.

๐ WHAT IS THIS VIDEO ABOUT?
1. The Science: Cognitive Biases & Heuristics
Cognitive biases are systematic errors in thinking. We use "heuristics" (mental shortcuts) to make complex decisions easier, but sometimes these shortcuts lead to errors that impact our lives—and potentially our love lives.
2. The Tools Used
To measure this scientifically, we utilized two gold-standard psychometric scales:
- DACOBS (Davos Assessment of Cognitive Biases Scale): Measures Jumping to Conclusions, Belief Inflexibility, Attention for Threat, and External Attribution.
- RDAS (Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale): Measures Dyadic Consensus, Satisfaction, and Cohesion.
3. The Research Results
- Methodology: Quantitative Non-Interventional Research (n=143 analyzed).
- The Findings: Surprisingly, the Null Hypothesis was largely accepted. We found no statistically significant correlation between most biases and overall relationship satisfaction.
- The Exception: A significant relationship was found between External Attribution Bias and Relationship Satisfaction. Watch the video to understand what this means!

๐ HOW TO READ YOUR REPORT
Your report is divided into two tabs. Scores range from Red (Concerning) to Green (Desired).
TAB 1: RELATIONSHIP REPORT (RDAS)
- Overall Score: High = Stability; Low = Distress/Instability.
- Dyadic Consensus: Do you align on life goals, values, and decisions?
- Dyadic Satisfaction: Are you happy with each other? Is conflict managed well?
- Dyadic Cohesion: Do you have shared interests, or are you living "parallel lives"?
TAB 2: COGNITIVE BIASES REPORT (DACOBS)
- Score Range: 6 (Minimal Bias) to 42 (High Bias).
- Jumping to Conclusions: Making hasty decisions without evidence.
- Belief Inflexibility: Ignoring evidence that contradicts your beliefs.
- Attention for Threat: Constantly scanning for danger.
- External Attribution: Blaming outside forces for your own actions.
